INTRODUCTION TO INVESTING
We were able to host Mr. Samridh Seth, a keen investor currently managing Black Komodo Investments, and author of Past Dwellers, to introduce society to the world of investing. He touched upon a variety of topics, ranging from the basic understanding of the field to the importance of research, and how to moderate yourself to remain alert when investing.
FINANCIAL CRASH
We were joined by Mr. Roman Grossegger, Head of High Yield at Pictet, who taught us on the Crash of 2008, and how to manage a portfolio to survive it.
VIRTUAL PORTFOLIO
We were joined by Mr. Barnett, founder of Util and teacher at Charterhouse School, who used his own portfolio to educate us on how to diversify our investments to increase our growth potential and reduce our risk.
FINANCIAL MARKETS AND CORPORATE ACTIVITY- CEO LAZARD
We were joined by Mr. Cryus Kapadia, CEO, of Lazard's UK Investment Banking business. During the call, we touched upon the recent corporate activity, and unique methods to invest well. Lazard is the largest independent bank in the world, and we were honored to learn from such a prominent figure in the banking world.
EMERGING MARKETS AND PORTFOLIO CONSTRUCTION- UBS WEALTH MANAGEMENT
We were joined by Dr. Tatiana Boroditskaya from the Chief Investment Office of UBS Global Wealth Management, who touched upon emerging markets, bons and portfolio construction.
JOSEPH EAMES
Joined by Joseph Eames, a recent Old Carthusian, who has spent his gap year deeply studying and learning the field of cryptocurrency, before his Series 66 examinations. Joe educated the audience on coin analysis, blockchain, and appropriate investing. Joe further discussed the limitations of Blockchain in the real world, paying emphasis on finance and the environment.
